Dear Yorktown Theatre Community,
We are writing to ask for your support for the Yorktown Theatre Arts program. We are raising funds to support the program this year and into the future. This is a very special program that many students and alumni agree has changed their lives for the better.
Many of us have seen positive changes in our children as a result of participating in Yorktown’s Theatre Arts program. As you and other alumni parents saw in your children as they launched into college and into their professional lives, they have increased poise, confidence and ability to express themselves. They have learned the value of creative collaboration and ensemble and have developed bonds with a powerful community of creative and engaged students. We know from your child’s experience at Yorktown that this program isn’t only about theatre – it’s about fostering growth and development of skills that will serve our children throughout their lives and make them responsible adults and community members.
There are many expenses for each production, ranging from obvious ones like costumes, makeup, lights and construction materials to behind-the-scenes costs such as royalties. One reason Theatre Arts Parents exists is to raise funds and help pay for the theatrical expenses not covered by the small budget provided by Yorktown. Please join us in supporting the program – we welcome donations of any size.
Thank you for being part of the Yorktown Theatre Arts family… and for your past and present support. We greatly appreciate it.
