Written by Cole Porter in 1934 many of the showtune lyrics featured humorous references to various figures of scandal and gossip in high society of the day, which subsequent versions of the musical have inserted modern references.

Many songs introduced in 'Anything Goes' are now recognized as pop and jazz standards including ''You're the Top,' 'I Get a Kick Out of You,' and 'All Through the Night.' Fun Fact: Audiences may recall hearing 'Anything Goes' in the film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and on radio stations within hit video games Fallout 3 & Fallout 4.
